7. It's Not Easy Being
Green
Career Field -
Biology/Botany
|
From slime molds to Sequoias, we'll take a look at plants
and their importance to man and the Earth. Using microscopes
to visually dissect the smallest members of the plant
kingdom as well as other instruments we will explore the
living plant life around us. We will scientifically explore
the economic and environmental importance of plants, big and
small, to the survival of human and animal life on our
planet.
Leader – Sandy Pete
Sandy Pete is a graduate of Humboldt State with a bachelor
of art degree in biology and botany. She currently works for
Agilent Technologies, Inc. working with people across the
world to develop supply chain solutions. After leading both
her daughters’ troops she has continued to extensively
volunteer with the Girl Scout organization. Her favorite
activity is to pass on her love for science by leading
science-based programs at Residence camp for 4-6 grade
girls. In her spare time when she isn't helping with some
project Sandy loves to “geocache” in her awesome truck
painted with flames on it.
