Career Field – Chemistry

Can sight, or any other of our five senses, influence what we taste? In this session we will venture into organoleptic chemistry with different experiments that challenge our senses. This prepares us for a career in winemaking where taste is what matters.

Leader – Julie Alderman

Julie Alderman is a part of the winemaking team at the Hess Collection Winery in Napa. She received her B.S. degree in Chemistry from Sonoma State University, where she discovered her passion for wine. Julie is also continuing to expand her knowledge of motherhood as the mother of a two year old child.
