10. Watch Out for Bath
Bombs!
|
Career Field –
Chemistry
Watch Out for the Bath Bombs! How do those little bath tablets
add fizz and fragrance to your bath water? It's really a
chemical reaction between citric acid and baking soda, two
common household products. We will make our own bath
bubblers and test their properties in water of different
temperatures. You can even take one home!
Leader – Jennifer Lillig
Jennifer Lillig is a biochemistry professor at Sonoma State
University and does research on molecules that destroy
disease-causing bacteria. She has a B.S. degree in chemistry
from Harvey Mudd College and a Ph.D. in chemistry from the
University of California San Diego. In addition to
chemistry, Jennifer likes to hang out with her family and
friends and she is the proud mom of daughter Olivia Lillig.
